Catching Up

Time to play catch up.

Last weekend John got a bug up his butt and had the oh-so-wonderful idea that we should absolutely get a puppy. "Bear needs a friend." "It can grow up with Lily." "It will be so cute." All of these statements coming out of my macho man's mouth

A what?!?!

A little 4 legged creature who will pee and poop and chew on anything it comes close to? Seriously. Let's think about things..... New baby. 4 year old dog who is as close to perfect as any dog ever could be and who already suffers from being a bit ignored since Lily arrived. Both parents working full-time and who complain about our Bear "fee" of $23/month.

Anyhow, we went to "look" at the puppies. Just look. No promises made. And thankfully, no promises kept.

What a litter of cuties

"But, daddy, I promise to take care of it."

Thursday was great! Deb picked up the little one for another Deb & Lily Thursday. They always have fun together and thankfully Lily was good for her. I went to pick her up and we headed down to Cameron's house for dinner so I could introduce Lily to the girls. If Lily turns out half as wonderful as they are, I will be forever thankful.

Playing with Nelson and Bradley

To think I took care of Nelson when she was this age......this scene almost made me cry.
Boy how time flies.
JJ was going out of town with her family for the weekend so I was "forced" to take Friday off to spend it with Lily. I guess someone's gotta do it. We spent some time at the Ford dealership and left with a pimp ride.
A Crown Victoria! Woo hoo!
Explorer's traction system wasn't working properly so it will be in the shop until Tuesday. Lily and I are actually getting used to the "old fashioned" way of traveling around with just a seatbelt and carseat. We're are definitely spoiled these days with bases that the seat just clicks into.
Once we got our "new" car, we headed up to Heather's house to hang out and go to lunch.
Excited for our lunchdate

Passed out after lunch. See ya next time, buddy!

"I'm so glad mommy was able to spend Friday with me!"

Bathing Beauty

Lily finally started enjoying her bathtime. It had been such a struggle since we brought her home, but thanks to some input from Nana, we seem to be getting along just fine now. Unfortunately she's learned how to splash with her feet so I end up as wet as she does.

Easter Lily

Over the river and through the woods, to Grandmother Thompson's house we go! John and I BARELY got a hello hug from Grandma T. She was solely focused on little Lily....her 8th grandchild. Lily was of course equally happy to see her and behaved like the little angel she is. We had a fun time introducing her to everyone....Libby and her crew, Aunt Kay and Uncle Jim and then John's cousins. But Grandma was the favorite of the weekend! We were also lucky enough to see KC who brought her camera and took tons of wonderful pictures of Lily. Now we can start decorating our house with photos.

Nice to meet ya, Grandma!

Such a doll

I think Lily was done being such a good baby. Let's go home!

A Touch of Spring

My favorite tree in our yard. (Weeping cherry) Lily doesn't seem to care for it.

This outfit got an A+ for fashion from JJ!

Old Friends & New Friends

What a wonderful weekend! Lily and I kicked it off by heading downtown to meet up with an old friend from high school who happened to be in town for business. Then we ventured to a coffee house to meet up with the girls for a cup o' joe. Erin, Farrah, Julie, Jill and Katie were there with little Lachlann, Riley and handsome Colton. FINALLY!!! Some girl time after spending everyday with three boys! As if that wasn't enough, Lily and I then headed north to Alpharetta to meet her future boyfriend, Tanner. He's still quite a little peanut so he slept most of the time, but I have a feeling he's getting ready to grow, grow, grow! Tanner's mom, Heather, and I walked around the park while the little ones slept, and boy were we pooped at the end of it. I suppose it's time to get back into shape? Whatever. Once Lily and I got home, we played for a little bit, met Aunt Jerry and Uncle Jim on Skype and then crashed at 6:30pm.

One more day of this beautiful weather we've been having before the last little bit of winter rears its ugly head. Hopefully this will be it so Lily can start wearing her adorable, warm weather clothes.

Thanks for breakfast, Ian! It was great to see you.
